Situated in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) is one of the leading universities known for its well-furnished infrastructure and academic excellence.  In addition to customized programs, students also get an opportunity to study for four weeks in Berlin and Vancouver if they can manage and afford the travel and staying costs. Furthermore, the students in UPES can also take advantage of professional courses from IBM, Tableau, and AWS. Finally, the university provides around 50% scholarship on select postgraduate courses at partner institutes in the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States for students willing to pursue their master’s degrees abroad.

Scholarship for Girl Students: UPES offers a 20% scholarship for girls who opt for undergraduate and postgraduate programs. 70% marks in the 12th board exams are considered as the eligibility criteria for the scholarship.

Merit-Based Scholarship:

The university offers merit-based scholarships to its students who score an aggregate of 80% marks in classes X and XII. The scholarship amount is around 50% of the tuition fee.

The merit-based scholarship is only limited to 10% of seats in each B.Tech program offered by the university.

The merit-based scholarship will be awarded to the first-semester eligible candidates in merit order. In the succeeding years, the continuance of scholarship will be as per the university policy.

Scholarship for Uttarakhand State Board Toppers:

The university offers scholarships to the Uttarakhand state board toppers based on merit orders around one seat. A tuition fee waiver of 25% for boys and 35% for girl students in the first year is considered for this scholarship.

The seats are reserved for Uttarakhand resident students, and 15% of the seats are reserved under this category.

Students should have a permanent residence certificate, “Sthai Niwas Praman Patra” to avail the scholarship.

Students can be entitled to only one scholarship at a time. In the succeeding years, the continuance of scholarship will be as per the university policy.

UPES offers engineering programs ranging from aerospace to petroleum engineering and earth sciences.

The university provides an engineering and business diploma in collaboration with the London School of Business and Finance, Singapore.

The university provides placement assistance for up to five years for its students.

It also provides international internship programs and collaborates with industries like Larsen & Toubro, Prime Basic Chemicals Ltd., Microsoft, etc.

 As a result, it is considered one of the best colleges to pursue engineering in India.
